10km Team Category Swimmer Race Rules
- Each Team may have a maximum of 3 swimmers. The team may consist of Male and/or Female swimmers.
- On the morning of the swim each all Team swimmers must attend the pre race briefing or risk being disqualified.
- Team swimmers may only change over at the two points marked on this map. No change over is permitted elsewhere.
- Each Team member must complete an entry form; only one member has to complete the Team details and Boat drivers' information.
10km Team Category Boat Race Rules
- Each Team must provide their own boat for the duration of the swim.
- Full Boat details on the entry form must be supplied.
- The Team boat must remain behind (Eastern or Ocean Side) the 10km swim course.
- Team Boats are not approved water safety vessels. They may be used to offload swimmers in an emergency situation but at no time are they to perform swimmer evacuation/pickups.
The Cole Classic @ Manly Event Race Rules
- All swimmers must swim the prescribed course and, in the event that they do not complete the course, ensure that their name is marked off the official entrants register at the Information stall.
- Swimmers must swim in the race category for which they are eligible.
- All swimmers must wear their prescribed cap, race number and timing device.
- Swimmers competing in the 2 km Cole Classic or the 10 km Manly Swim Challenge may not wear wet suits or seal suits nor may swimmers use extraneous aids eg. flippers, snorkels or flotation clothing or other devices. Swimmers competing in the 1km Novice Challenge may wear wet suits or use extraneous aids but such swimmers will not be eligible for a race result or prize.
- Any buddy swimmer accompanying an under 13 year aged swimmer will not be eligible for a prize or qualify as an official placegetter.
- All swimmers are to behave in a fair and sportsmanlike manner without interference or aggression towards other competitors and any breach of this rule may result in disqualification from the Cole Classic.
- If in the opinion of an event medical officer or a water safety official, a competitor is physically or otherwise incapable of starting or completing the Cole Classic or has been in the water for an inordinate time such competitor may be disqualified from starting or be removed from the water at any time.
- If, in the opinion of the Manly Life Saving Club or the Manly Municipal Council Lifeguard Services, the weather or swimming conditions are dangerous or unsuitable, the Cole Classic may be cancelled without notice.
- Protests must be made in writing to the Race Director within 45 minutes of completion of the Event.
- The Cole Classic Committee and the Race Director reserve the right to vary the Race Rules without notice and the decision of the Race Director shall be final.
- Any competitors who do not return their timing chip tag at the end of the race will be charged $50.
