Entries For The Cole Classic 2010 Are Now Closed
Online entries are now closed. Registering online is the only way to enter the Cole Classic, and it takes just a few minutes. Begin by reading the following important information and then clicking the ‘Enter Now’ button at the bottom of the page. Payment online is by credit card only. If you do not own or have access to a credit card, Australia Post have a facilitation where you can purchase a pre-paid debit card that can be used for online purchases.


ENTRY FEES

Listed below are the entry fees for the 2010 Sydney Morning Herald Cole Classic. Prices are inclusive of GST.  A child is anyone under the age of 16

The Early Bird offer was extended until Friday January 22, 2010. Postage of race packs will only be for those entrants who entered on or prior to December 18.

1km – The 1km race will begin at 8.30am from Shelly Beach.

Back-of-the-pack
There are four wave starts in this group. You may select a back-of-the-pack wave start based on cap colour and you must start in this wave start group. The back-of-the-pack is a great starting group for entry level swimmers or those just wishing to participate.

2km Start Groups Limited positions left, Waves 4 & 5 almost full
2km – the 2km race will begin at 10am from Shelly Beach.

2km Elite Start – to enter into the elite start you must nominate this on your entry form. You will then need to email the organisers your swimming CV to prove your capabilities of competing in this category. By entering as elite, you are ineligible to enter into a team or win an age category prize.

Note: If you choose to enter in both the 1km and 2km events you are ineligible for any 1km prizes.


TEAM CATEGORIES - 2KM swim only

Every person must enter the race as an individual. You may also enter yourself in a team with friends, relatives or work colleagues if you like. Each team requires a minimum of four competitors.  Winners are awarded by the fastest four finishers (category BC (Mixed Open) requires at least one female to be included).

Other swimming categories that can be entered are listed below. You must enter these on every entrants form.

Categories
AA – Family
BA – Female Open
BB – Male Open
BC – Mixed Open (at least one female must be included in the results)
CA – Corporate
CB – Swim/Surf Clubs

* You will be automatically entered into the appropriate age and gender categories.
* Elite swimmers may not enter as part of a team.

CATEGORY PRIZES

All finishers of both races will receive a Sydney Morning Herald Cole Classic Finishers Medal at the finish line.

1km

All individual Age Category and Open men and Open women winners and placegetters will receive a ceramic trophy, exclusively designed by Celestial Ceramics.

Note: If you choose to enter in both the 1km and 2km events you are ineligible for any 1km prizes.

2km Elite
All category winners and placegetters will receive a ceramic trophy, exclusively designed by Celestial Ceramics.

As well as the ceramic trophy, the Elite Male and Female winners will receive one prize each to attend the Vanuatu & Espiritu Santo Swims (June 12-15, 2010). Valued at $3,250.

Each prize includes:
* 1 return air ticket Sydney-Vila-Sydney (excl. tax)
* 4 nights' accommodation at the Melanesian Port Vila
* 1 return air ticket Vila-Santo-Vila (excl. tax)
* 3 nights' accommodation at Aore Resort
* Winners must be aged 18 years or over

2km Teams
Winners in each team category will receive a ceramic trophy, exclusively designed by Celestial Ceramics (four trophies per team will be awarded).



MR & MRS AVERAGE PRIZE

Two persons (one male and one female) whose times are the closest to the average (calculated and selected by the computer) will win a trip for one to attend the Vanuatu & Espiritu Santo Swims (June 12-15, 2010). Valued at $3,250.

Each prize includes:
* 1 return air ticket Sydney-Vila-Sydney (excl. tax)
* 4 nights' accommodation at the Melanesian Port Vila
* 1 return air ticket Vila-Santo-Vila (excl. tax)

LUCKY DRAW PRIZE

All swimmers entered into the 1km and 2km events will go into the draw to win one of two trips to the Fiji Ocean Swim (October 8-10, 2010). Valued at $2,700.

Each prize includes:

* 1 return air ticket Sydney-Nadi-Sydney flying Air Pacific (excl. tax)
* 1 return transfer from Nadi to Plantation Island Resort
* 4 nights' accommodation at the Plantation Island Resort

HIGHEST FUNDRAISER
