Manly you're a star!

Manly you're a star, the Cole Classic arrived somewhat abruptly on your shores three years ago, to a perfect Sydney summers day. In 2007 you did it again & this year the community embraced us warmly. The location, the beach, the water & the sun were all shining to make for another sparkling day.
For the first time, this year we were very pleased to make a small contribution to Bear Cottage with the proceeds from the 10km Challenge. The new three-lap course from Fairy Bower - Queenscliff Bombora proved very popular. Next year the introduction of teams in this event will no doubt see it's popularity increase again.
The 1km Challenge from Shelley to Manly beach took us all by surprise with over 600 participants arriving to swim what has to be one of the most enchanting swims along the east coast of Australia. We will be better prepared for you all next year.
The 2km Classic Challenge continues to attract a diverse field including living legend & World record holder Libby Lenton & UK funny guy David Walliam. HG Nelson lost no time in extending a customary welcome to both competitors.
We look forward to Cole Classic 2008 with a new look sponsor, (still searching) & another sparkling Manly day.
