10k Man...

25km Open water world champ, Cole Classic winner & all round good guy Josh Santacaterina can't wait to have a go, to take on the 'king of the pool' in the rough & tumble of open water swimming (see Sydney Morning Herald article). Josh Santa, Brenadan Capel, Shelley Clark have been doing battle with the best of the best open water swimmers from around the world for years & doing very well, Josh & Brendan have both won the world champs (in 2006 & 2004 respectively).
Perhaps the most difficult part of the 10km swim is not the physical endurance but the race strategy. The 'dreaded drag' is the big issue, understandably nobody wants to lead & give the swimmer behind a leg up. How to best manage this requires street cunning something the Aussies struggled with early on in their ascendancy to the top.
We eagerly look forward to a cracker of a battle between the pool performers & the hardened open water street fighters
